TikTok Shop BFCM Campaign Requirements for 2026: What Brands Need to Qualify
To join TikTok Shop's official 2026 Black Friday and Cyber Monday campaign in the US, a shop needs a Shop Performance Score of at least 3.5, an Account Health Rating above 150, on-time dispatch of 80% or better, seller-fault cancellations at 5% or below, no active visibility limits, campaign pricing that clears its historical low, a free-shipping threshold of $30 or less, and Smart Promotion and GMV Max switched on (AfterShip, summarizing TikTok's Campaign FAQs). Review takes 5 to 14 business days. Missing the bar doesn't cut you off from BFCM traffic. Shoppers flood the whole platform that week. It does cost you the deal badges, campaign placements and platform-funded promotion that registered sellers get, and those are where much of the incremental volume comes from. This guide walks through each requirement, what it means for an established beauty brand, and how to stay eligible once you're in. For the full BFCM plan, see our TikTok Shop Black Friday strategy playbook. Shop performance and account health thresholds The 2026 bar has five parts. The first was already in place last year; the rest are new or newly enforced for this campaign (AfterShip): • Shop Performance Score of 3.5 or higher. Shops without a score need fewer than three violations in the last 30 days. • Account Health Rating above 150. AHR is the 0 to 1,000 score that replaced the old violation-points system in July 2026. • On-time dispatch of at least 80%. • Seller-fault cancellations at 5% or below. • No active visibility limits on the shop. For most established beauty brands, dispatch and cancellations are the easy ones. Your 3PL already ships on time, and stockouts are rare outside of viral spikes. Account health is where the risk sits, because it moves with things you don't fully control. The biggest driver is affiliate content. Since June 2026, unsupported claims made by your affiliates count against your seller account rather than the creator's. A skincare brand with a few hundred active creators has a few hundred people who can make a claim on its behalf. If your AHR has slipped this fall, find the cause now. Our TikTok Shop account health guide covers how deductions work and how to appeal them. If you're under any threshold, fix the underlying metric before registering. Submitting while ineligible just burns days of a 5 to 14 business day review window you don't have. Pricing requirements and the historical price floor TikTok checks campaign pricing against each product's own price history. For June's Deals For You Days, key products had to be priced at the lower of their lowest price since March 1 or 5% below retail, and BFCM has historically sat at the strictest, year-low tier (AfterShip). Confirm the exact 2026 BFCM rule in Seller Center when you register. The practical effect: every discount you ran this year sets a bar your BFCM price has to clear. A brand that ran a 30% flash sale on its hero serum in September may now need to beat that price to get the product into the campaign. For premium beauty brands, that creates a choice per SKU:
- Enter the hero at a price that clears its historical low, if the margin holds after fees, commission and promotion costs.
- Leave the hero out and enter a gift set or bundle instead. A newly listed bundle has little or no price history of its own, which often makes it the cleanest way into the campaign without cutting your flagship's unit price. Check how Seller Center treats bundle pricing before you build around it.
- Skip the campaign for that SKU and run your own offer outside it. Model the campaign price for each candidate SKU before you register. Our post on Black Friday discount strategy goes deeper on protecting margin and brand equity. Smart Promotion and GMV Max: the mandatory programs Two platform programs are effectively required for campaign sellers in 2026 (AfterShip). Smart Promotion has been a prerequisite for TikTok Shop campaigns since April. It charges 4.5% of store GMV during campaign periods (3.5% outside them) and guarantees shoppers at least a matching platform discount. That fee applies to campaign-period GMV across the store, so budget it alongside your own discount rather than treating it as a line item you'll figure out later. GMV Max is required for campaign sellers. If you haven't built a GMV Max campaign, TikTok auto-creates one seven days before the campaign starts and funds it from your account. Build it yourself so you control the budget, ROI target and which products and creator videos it runs. Add both to your campaign P&L before deciding which SKUs to enter. On a premium skincare product, a 20% campaign discount plus 4.5% Smart Promotion plus creator commission plus GMV Max spend can leave far less margin than the discount alone suggests. Confirm the exact BFCM rates in TikTok's official campaign one-pager. Logistics and listing requirements Three listing settings can keep products out of review entirely (AfterShip): • A free-shipping threshold of $30 or less • Every coupon registered through the campaign flow, not created separately in your promotions tab • Holiday Mode switched off None of these are hard, but they're easy to miss in a large catalog. A brand with dozens of SKUs and a legacy $50 free-shipping threshold set two years ago will find out at review time. Shipping speed affects visibility too, even though it isn't an entry rule. Products fulfilled through Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT), or shipped fast enough through Upgraded TikTok Shipping, earn the Free 3-Day Delivery badge. AfterShip recommends switching at least a month before the campaign if you want the badge live, so for 2026 that window has mostly passed. If you're not already set up, note it for next year's plan. The last logistics check is inventory. Stockouts during the campaign hurt the metrics that gate your next one. Confirm depth on every entered SKU, with extra on the gift sets creators will push hardest. How registration and review work Registration happens in Seller Center under Marketing, then Campaigns, where you can check shop eligibility and submit products for review (beBOLD, describing the same flow for Deals For You Days). Review takes 5 to 14 business days, and TikTok's prep map opens sign-ups from the first half of September (AfterShip). Working backward from a campaign that opens around November 11, a 14-business-day review that starts on October 27 finishes right around the open. That's why late October is the last realistic week to submit, and earlier is better. A clean submission looks like this:
- Confirm the shop meets every performance and health threshold.
- Fix listing settings: shipping threshold, Holiday Mode, and coupons created inside the campaign flow.
- Choose the SKUs to enter, with campaign prices that clear their historical lows and still make money after Smart Promotion, commission and ad spend.
- Submit, then build GMV Max while you wait so TikTok doesn't build it for you.
- Check review status daily and fix rejections the same day. When a product is rejected, pricing and listing settings are the usual suspects. Fix and resubmit the same day, because every day lost to a rejection is a day closer to the campaign open. Staying eligible once you're in Approval isn't the finish line. After you're accepted, the shop has to keep a Shop Performance Score of at least 3.0, or TikTok can pull campaign benefits mid-flight (AfterShip). Losing deal badges on Black Friday weekend is the worst-case outcome of the whole season. Three things put scores at risk during the window: • Affiliate claims. Volume peaks, creators rush, and deal-week energy pushes bigger promises. Review new creator videos daily and act on problems the same day. • Stockouts and cancellations. A viral video on a thin SKU can turn into a wave of cancellations. Watch inventory on whatever creators are pushing hardest. • Slow customer service. Keep replies inside 24 hours through the peak weekend, which usually means extra coverage over Thanksgiving. TikTok also rolled out a Seller Reliability Score in Q2 2026 that ties product visibility and affiliate access to performance, authenticity and return rates. Sloppiness during BFCM carries into the next campaign, so the cost of a bad week lasts longer than the week. Should a premium beauty brand join the official campaign? For most established beauty brands that qualify, yes, but selectively. The case for joining is visibility. Registered sellers get deal badges, campaign placements and platform-funded promotion during the highest-traffic weeks of the year. The prep work is nearly identical either way, since the creator, content and inventory planning all have to happen regardless (AfterShip). The case for caution is price. Entering your flagship at a year-low price trains shoppers to expect it, can create friction with Sephora, Ulta or Amazon pricing, and becomes the reference point for every future campaign. The middle path most premium brands should take: register the shop, enter a small set of gift sets, bundles or secondary SKUs where the campaign price still works, and keep the hero's unit price intact. Creators can still drive the hero outside the campaign at your standard price, while the campaign SKUs pick up the badge traffic. Brands that don't qualify this year shouldn't sit BFCM out. The traffic surge is platform-wide, and a strong creator program with your own offer can still have a big week. Use the gap as next year's to-do list. Mistakes that get brands rejected or pulled • Registering in late October and running out of review time. • Running promotions all fall, then finding the hero's required campaign price no longer makes money. • Forgetting a legacy free-shipping threshold above $30. • Creating coupons outside the campaign flow. • Leaving Holiday Mode on from an earlier pause. • Ignoring a slipping Account Health Rating until review. • Letting TikTok auto-create GMV Max with settings you didn't choose. • Treating approval as the end and losing benefits to a mid-campaign score drop. • Leaving Smart Promotion's 4.5% out of the campaign P&L. What a partner should handle on campaign readiness Campaign eligibility sits between teams. Ecommerce owns pricing and listings, ops owns dispatch, and whoever runs creators owns the affiliate content that drives account health. When nobody owns the whole checklist, something slips. If an agency runs your TikTok Shop program, it should be able to tell you today whether you qualify, which SKUs you're entering and at what price, when GMV Max goes live, and who reviews creator content during the window. Creatify runs TikTok Shop creator programs for established beauty and wellness brands through dedicated pods, with a client success manager, creator manager and creator coach on every account. Because the same pod manages the affiliate base and the creator content, account health risks from affiliate claims get caught before they reach a campaign review. FAQs What are the requirements for TikTok Shop's 2026 BFCM campaign? A Shop Performance Score of 3.5 or higher, Account Health Rating above 150, on-time dispatch of at least 80%, seller-fault cancellations at 5% or below, no visibility limits, campaign pricing that clears the historical low, a free-shipping threshold of $30 or less, campaign-registered coupons, Holiday Mode off, and Smart Promotion and GMV Max enabled. How long does campaign review take? Five to 14 business days. For a campaign opening around November 11, submit no later than the last week of October. Is GMV Max required for the BFCM campaign? Yes, for campaign sellers. If you don't build a GMV Max campaign, TikTok creates one seven days before the start and funds it from your account. How much does Smart Promotion cost during BFCM? Smart Promotion charges 4.5% of store GMV during campaign periods and 3.5% otherwise. Confirm the BFCM rate in TikTok's official campaign materials. Can I still sell during BFCM if I don't qualify? Yes. The traffic surge is platform-wide. You lose campaign badges, placements and platform promotion, but a strong creator program can still drive a big week. Can I lose campaign benefits after approval? Yes. Shops need to keep a Shop Performance Score of at least 3.0 after approval, or benefits can be removed mid-campaign.
